1. Remember That Your Bridesmaids Have Feelings Too. It is easy when in the whirlwind of planning a wedding to forget that your bridesmaids have lives and feelings too. So stay alert to the feelings your bridesmaids may be experiencing. For example, a bridesmaid without a significant other may feel lonely and left out as she watches her friends get married. Be sensitive to this. Or a bridesmaid may be worried that you won't find time for her once you are married. Stay in tune with the varied and sometimes intense emotions being in a wedding can bring up within your bridesmaids.

2. Give Your Bridesmaids Reminders. Sure, your bridesmaids should always remember when the next fitting is, or when deposits for the dresses are due, but they may forget. To avoid conflict, send them written reminders with all the dates they need to keep track of.

3. Try To Make The Experience Fun. Being a bridesmaid should not feel like having a root canal--so try to make the experience fun.

4. Don't Turn Into A Self-Centered Bridezilla: While your wedding is indeed the center of the universe (not), your bridesmaids still deserve you to care about what is going on in their lives. While it is only natural to talk about your wedding with your bridesmaids, be sure to also save some time and energy to discuss what it going on in their lives.

5. Be Sensitive To Money and Body-Image Issues: In selecting a bridesmaid dress, be aware of financial limitations of your bridal party, and the style of dresses they will feel most comfortable in.
